Hello!
My name is Ted Cart and I'm a freelance full-stack web developer in the Boston area.
I discovered my passion for coding after several jobs in the financial sector. After successfully creating a spreadsheet to solve sudoku puzzles (complete with iterative guessing!) I knew I wanted to do this full-time.
I like the work, I like the people, I like who I am when I do it. The goals of any project are straight-forward, but the solution never is. People bring different strengths and ideas yet the common goal keeps the discussion grounded. Most of all I love those random moments between work hours when the answer to some complex problem just comes to you and you race the clock to get it down in writing. I completed General Assembly's web immersion program to legitimize my passion and turn it into a career.
I'm excited to engage in a productive team environment doing work I'm good at, working on projects I care about.

BitStash is an online storage solution that allows you to upload files you have on your personal computer to a remote server for access from anywhere in the world! Users can create an account, and privately upload personal files of any type to the cloud, where they can then access them with a web browser.
In this version, we have limited the size of a file upload to 10MB.

Technologies: JavaScript, HTML/CSS, Bootstrap, jQuery, AJAX
My first project! Play TicTacToe complete with user authentication. Also added some flavor text in the sub-headers. Don't click the same square too many times unless you want the game to get annoyed and tell you about it.

Remember Boggle? I built a game based on it. It's a single-page application complete with account login, a CPU opponent, and a review mode of prior boards.
I loved the challenge of iterating through a grid of letters to find all the words and this game is the result. I'm especially proud that refreshing the page won't lose your game and that the letters light up.

Technologies: JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap
I created an app to encode and decode messages for the Bonnaroo Music Festival Marketing team for use in their May 2018 promotions. Completed in a single afternoon (with a few minor tweaks later on).
This simple application is my first paid freelance gig!
